Choir

Christmas and Summer concerts!

smileyThis year, like we have done for the past couple of years, The Longlands School Choir will be putting on two concerts for their family and friends. They will perform a range of songs (with a little movement and instruments too) for all to enjoy. It is a lovely opportunity for children to share their hard work and talents to their loved ones! Some of the children, who learn musical instruments in our school, will perform too! These concerts are a wonderful showcase of our children's talents.smiley

September 2024 Community Visits

heartThree times a year we love to visit our local care home. We sing a range of songs, which the children work hard to rehearse! The residents always welcome us warmly and are very keen to get up and join in! It is a lovely opportunity for the children and residents to come together, we also have time to mingle and play the piano for them! Our next trip is coming soon, we will keep you posted! heart

Young Voices January 15th January 2024

Longlands School Choir

Longland's KS2 choir have spent the last few months learning the songs for the Young Voices concert, songs which are a mixture of rock songs, nostalgic 80/90's tunes and film tunes from Moana, Matilda- a really eclectic mix of music.

Finally the day arrived, we knew it would be a long day but we also knew it would be worth it!  The children arrived at the Arena and the atmosphere was electric right from the beginning.  We spent the afternoon in rehearsals - going over the songs and moves ready for the evening concert.

As the concert time approached the children became extremely excited..... some of the children had been before so knew what to expect!  The parents started to fill the arena, the usual - where's my child hunt began!  Finally it was showtime!  The songs, the moves and the atmosphere lead to an amazing performance - being part of a 5000+ strong choir is an experience that will not be forgotten!
