Primary School Sports Funding
Our aim at Longlands Primary School is to provide our children a wide, challenging and engaging range of PE opportunities in and out of school hours, enabling them to lead a healthy lifestyle and have the desire to be the best they can possibly be, setting goals and targets that they strive to achieve.
Over the past four years the UK government has been providing additional funding of £150 million per annum to improve the provision of physical education (PE) and sport in primary schools. This funding, provided jointly by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport, will be allocated to primary school head teachers. The money must be used to improve the provision of PE and school sport.
